Planning, Monitoring and Coordination
TMAC develops Mine action plans (strategic and annual), national standards and other strategic documents related to Mine action and submits them to CIIHL for approval.
Currently, the implementation of the Tajik Mine Action program is going on in accordance with the Mine Action Strategic Five-year Plan for 2004-08 and the Annual plan which were approved on 13 April, 2004 by CIIHL. Most of the National standards were developed and approved by CIIHL.
TMAC is responsible for co-ordination and monitoring system of all mine action activities in Tajikistan. Within this framework, TMAC updates the national mine action plan and thus undertakes the development, priorities’ selection, planning and coordination of the operations. It also runs re-distribution of the operations, confirms the completion of the tasks, hands over the Certificates of the cleared sites to the local authorities. TMAC provides its partners with the information of mined areas and operations obtained from the IMSMA system, as well as on mine incidents and mine survivors.
ÒÌÀÑ identifies the needed capabilities of the quality inspection and iassurance of the operation of mine action. Quality Assurance (QA) Officer confirms whether the methods of management and the procedures of the deminers’ operation is correct / effective or not in order QA Officer could confirm that the operations meet the international standards. ÒÌÀÑ is based in Dushanbe in order to manage the monitoring and cooperation of the activities easily in all the areas and the cooperation with the partners and the public were successful.
The major partners of TMAC in implementation of Tajik Mine Action program are the following organizations: UNDP, OSCE, EU, representatives of the donor countries in Tajikistan, FSD, GIGHD, Ministries of Security, Justice, Interior, MFA, Education, MLSP, Defense, Health, Emergency situations, the Committee of Protection of the State Border and local executive authorities.
