Post Clearance Survey

TMAC operates a programme of surveys and visits to sites over a period of years after completion of the release process. The surveys investigate the socio-economic consequences of the land release process, but also engage in active information seeking to help confirm the effectiveness of the land release process. The absence of adverse events is an important indicator of the effectiveness of the process. Any indication that an adverse event has occurred is investigated in detail and used to support continual improvement of the overall land release process. Adverse events include:

•  An accident within a released area
•  The discovery of a hazardous item within a released area
