Mine Clearance Activities Start with the Training

Based on prepared plan and guideline on Mine Clearance operations for 2009, the activities have been launched from the trainings. These special trainings were provided for the Team Medics and MDD Handlers and started on February 2. Training for the Team Leaders started on February 9, 2009.

Trainings have been conducted by the Demining Agency in Tajikistan - Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD) under coordination of TMAC. Since that time to February 13 TMAC QA Team conducted 4 monitoring of ongoing trainings that resulted to the positive quality of trainings.

On February 12 TMAC organized the final workshop on the mine clearance operations completed in 2008 in the engineering battalion of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic Tajikistan located in the Rudaki district. 30 programme operation staff participated in the activities of 2008 workshops. Information about TMAC activities was presented in the seminar, as well as general results of the mine clearance in 2008. Difficulties, lacks on operations and the ways of solution have been discussed by participants to avoid any problems in the future activities.

At the end of the workshop those, who achieved target goals of 2008 and contributed effectively to the implementation of the mine clearance Program in Tajikistan have been awarded with the valued gifts and TMAC’s Honored Certificate.

Besides, on February 13 TMAC Program staff – senior QA officer Shonazarov Asafbek, MRE Officer Davlatova Shahrinisso and MVA Officer Muminova Reykhan conducted training on their respective issues to the Team Leaders and Supervisors.
