The Round Table plays significant role in extension period and Tajik Mine Action Centre (TMAC) prepared the Extension Paper on behalf of the Governmental Commission on realization International Human Rights of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNDP approval.  As we know, the deadline for the obligations of Tajikistan on implementation Ottawa Convention resolution is the 1st of April 2010.  The Round Table was mainly aimed to discuss the Extension Request for implementation obligations for the next 10 years (2010-2019), since Tajikistan really needs this extension to fulfill the plans of the target years.

Based on the results of the surveys and information analyses, TMAC made a decision on implementation of mine clearance of all mine affected areas of Tajikistan within extra 10 years.  Tajikistan is expected to fulfill his obligations on the clearance of affected areas within this period.  Participants supported the Extension Request for 2019 that was proposed by TMAC.
